SBB Swiss Federal Railways, Upgrading Rupperswil Line – Mägenwil
There is a bottleneck for passenger and freight services between Aarau and Zurich. For this reason, Swiss Federal Railways is making plans to drive forward the urgently needed development of services.
For the next step in the services it offers, Swiss Federal Railways is realizing the new Birr – Mägenwil connection line. The railroad tracks and Mägenwil station will also be extended and noise abatement measures will be implemented.
Around CHF 160 million from the budget for the Expansion of the Strategic Development Program (STEP) has been approved for the Rupperswil – Mägenwil upgrade project.
