From 2018, Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. will offer the Urus SUV as the third series in its product range. The new model is to be built at its Italian headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese. Drees & Sommer is undertaking project management for the factory extension and will ensure on-schedule start of production.
The automaker needs space at its headquarters plant in Sant’Agata Bolognese for the production of the new SUV. The developed area on the site will be almost doubled from the current 80,000 square meters to 150,000 square meters. This corresponds to an area of around 21 football fields. The realization includes a paint shop, an assembly hall, a finishing area, and a logistics warehouse. The company also wants to upgrade the infrastructure and increase its research & development capacity. Drees & Sommer has responsibility for project management of all technical and building services equipment installations. In addition, the international team is undertaking plant layout and 3D collision detection. Construction started in March 2016, with deliveries of the new Urus scheduled to commence from 2018
